Johanna von Oldershausen (b. 1985 in Mülheim/Ruhr, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. She studied art and design foundation at Chelsea College of Art in London, followed by stage and costume design at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee with a semester abroad at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. She earned her diploma with the set design for "Orlando" at the Grillo Theatre in Essen. She worked as an assistant for various stage and costume designers before creating her own theatre and film designs at the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany. After living abroad in Stockholm and Amsterdam, Johanna von Oldershausen started to work as a visual artist in 2019.
Johanna von Oldershausen works with the medium of collage, whereby her working steps oscillate between digital and analogue. Analogue collages are further processed digitally by means of an almost three-dimensional digital creative process, which is comparable to the constructions of a theatre stage, where different levels of scenery are created with backdrops, curtains, and transparent veils. The digital collages are finalized as a Fine Art Print.
